Gitanjali leads the Patents and Designs practice as a Partner at KRIA Law. Gitanjali is a techo legal professional who has worked at a law firm as well as an in-house counsel at a large, well known 125-year-old Indian conglomerate. With about 20 years of experience in multiple aspects of law, Gitanjali has worked closely with clients and top management in areas of corporate strategy, advisory, contracts, M&A transactions, data privacy, product liability, consumer law and competition law besides intellectual property. She also supports clients to deliver business results by mitigating their transactional and legal risks in all strategic and functional matters.

Together with her team, she has performed due diligence and developed risk handling strategies for clients and businesses and secured robust contracts and negotiations with national as well as international entities. Gitanjali has also performed evaluation of risk profiles of tenders by reducing risk exposures as part of tender and contract analysis. In several cases, she has been successful in negotiating and settling matters to avoid litigation, and in some matters, she has been successful in enforcing and securing rights through litigation. She has formulated the legal strategy for launching products in the market to secure competitive edge and market share by capitalising on exclusivity in the marketplace. She has enabled business teams to showcase innovation as part of their market strategy to garner consumer interest. All these, backed by periodic audit and review has led to enhanced business results and earnings.

In addition to this, Gitanjali also identifies licensing opportunities for IP assets through market, product and competition research. She keeps abreast with new laws and legislations, changes in rules and procedures that can impact the clients.
